In Brasília, ARCHITECTS OFFICE conceives Casa M, an ode to symbiosis with the cerrado, where the dwelling seamlessly merges with the natural splendor of the region. Created on a plot of 1384.03m², of which 584.03m² are dedicated to vegetation, this house is an invitation to immerse oneself in one of Brazil's primary biomes.

The 890m² project is designed to accommodate a family of three and materialize the activities they would like to articulate in the dwelling - gardening, manual work, gatherings and celebrations, resting, cooking, and producing - in symbiosis with the local nature - the cerrado - as a private shelter. The proposed architecture generously opens up to the surroundings, allowing an intimate connection with the surrounding cerrado. The composition is derived from the reading of the cerrado. The base, represented here by the ground floor, has a raw form, much like the trunks and bark of trees that withstand high temperatures and drought. Meanwhile, the sparse branches and leaves shade and create an environment conducive to life, much like the muxarabis forming a film of sun protection and privacy.

The architecture is defined by two linear volumes resting on the ground that embrace the terrain, creating a large and central living space on the ground floor. Meanwhile, the upper floor rests upon these volumes, materializing lightness. On the ground floor, one of the linear volumes houses service and support spaces such as a wine cellar, TV room, technical kitchen, laundry, and service courtyard. The smaller volume accommodates an adaptable office, with internal and external access connected to the street. On the upper floor, master suites extend to private terraces, while other suites, a pantry, intimate lounge, and library offer spaces for various activities.

Upon entering the house, the layout projects the residents' journey - a welcoming hall directs flows to integrated living and dining areas opening to the external space, with an open kitchen, pool, poolside bath, providing a unique living experience.

Each space has been carefully designed to meet contemporary demands, seeking tranquil spaces where solitude or creative leisure can be fostered, as well as areas where life happens alongside family and friends, with various lounging and recreational spaces. The project as a whole aims to create a breathing atmosphere, where architecture and gardens intertwine, providing integration while simultaneously blending into the surroundings with simplicity and tones.
