Casa Pedra: A Sculpted Monolith in Dialogue with Nature
A refined monolith, Casa Pedra reveals the simplicity and comfort of living.Carved from its raw, elemental core, it opens a dialogue with the surrounding landscape.A dialectic of contrasts, where rugged stone transforms into a sensorial delicacy. The harmony of mineral and vegetal defines its architectural essence.
A Contemporary Rural Retreat
Nestled in Fazenda da Grama, Itupeva (SP), Casa Pedra reinterprets the rural home for Lar Construtora. Designed to absorb the essence of its pastoral surroundings, the project translates contemporary living aspirations into a fluid and sophisticated single-level residence. With 600 square meters of built area, it sits on a recessed plateau below street level, ensuring privacy within the residential enclave.
Materiality and Spatial Flow
Casa Pedra embodies a dialogue between raw and refined, mineral and vegetal. Its textured stone façade, sculpted with precise openings, unveils large glass doors and windows, framing views of the surrounding gardens and seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces.
At its core, a central courtyard emerges from carefully extruded volumes, naturally delineating social and private areas while fostering a sensory landscape. This void acts as a passive climate solution, enhancing natural ventilation and daylighting through open circulation pathways.
The private wing, positioned at the front of the house, features five bedrooms—two guest rooms, two suites, and a master suite. The service areas, discreetly located near the vehicle access, include staff quarters, a laundry room, and a pantry, while the opposite wing houses a linen closet, a powder room, and a study/TV room with an adjacent wine cellar.
In the social area, a sculptural fireplace anchors the living space, maintaining an open connection between the lounge and dining areas. The kitchen extends into the gourmet veranda, reinforcing the fluidity between indoor and outdoor living.
A Roofscape of Perspectives
An organic rooftop terrace, accessible via external stairs, offers unrestricted panoramic views, encompassing the elongated pool and fire pit below.
A Singular Concept, Four Unique Expressions
Designed as a set of four residences, each distinguished by its own finishes and tonal variations, Casa Pedra remains unified by a singular architectural vision—a rural retreat where design, well-being, and the poetics of living intertwine in harmony with nature.
