Le Parc: a project of dualities

Research and concept

Structured on the top of one of Joinville's urban hills, the project is marked by contrasts and coexistence: the telluric and the aerial, the local and the urban, light and shadow, the natural and the constructed.

The foundation is geometric and refers back to the materiality of the soil, while the roofs of the towers nod to the horizon. The base is an oasis embraced by a remnant of the Atlantic Forest, the tops of the towers exposed as a symbol and dialogue with the urban context. The shade of the native forest contrasts with the exposure to sunlight of the common and private open terraces.

The project aims to dissolve the large built mass into the natural context, by means of pulverizing the common areas into pavilions and renewing the vegetation covering the perimeter of the land.

The architectural proposal

The lot has a unique characteristic: on one side, it is deeply connected to the urban fabric, while on the other, a hill covered in native vegetation from the Atlantic Forest creates an atmosphere of natural refuge. This duality, between accessibility to the center and immersion in nature, guided the volumetric development of the project. The architectural proposal encompasses three main elements: the base and the two residential towers, which rise in a complementary manner: one with darker materiality and the other lighter.

Integration with nature

The paths between the base and the towers were designed as common areas that function as a home club, with small programmatic pavilions distributed in harmony with the vegetation around the lot. The fluidity between the spaces creates an organic integration with the surrounding landscape.

The vegetation on the facades, combined with the possibility of fully opening the frames, provides an experience of an expanded balcony, where the sensation of being outdoors is constant. The rooftops offer open areas, creating suspended backyards and reinforcing the feeling of a house in the sky.

Since its inception in 2020, the project has been continually refined, with meticulous attention to finishing details, thermal comfort and bioclimatic efficiency, adapting to Joinville's climate reality. Le Parc not only interacts with the city, but also with nature, creating a unique balance between the urban and the natural.
